Chester is the county town of Cheshire in England. Located on the River Dee on the border of with Wales Chester has a population of over 77,000 people making it the largest and most populated settlement within the wider Chester District. Chester is most notable for the variety of architectural monuments found within the settlement. The most famous of these are the Grade 1 listed medieval city walls, the most complete of any found in the UK.

Chester is renowned in the UK as the ‘Medieval walled City’. The Chester city walls are a system of large defensive walls strategically placed to defend the English city of Chester. The earliest surviving sections of the walls date as far back as 120AD, the first sections of the wall were made from wood and earth palisades dating back to Roman times, but the walls have been enlarged, redesigned, repaired, and replaced numerous times since their medieval beginnings. These fascinating walls are just a part of the rich Chester history. Chester’s very own cathedral dates back to the early tenth century, this medieval complex has draws visitors with it’s dazzling stained glass windows, and amazing architecture.

Although a city renowned for its rich historical background and historic landmarks Chester boasts a vibrant and exciting night life that rivals the most modern of cities.
