More about Cardiff

Cardiff is the capital and largest city in Wales. Situated on the south coast of Wales and with a population of over 317,500 people Cardiff is the 14th largest city in the UK. Cardiff, although only a young city over 100 years old, has been built around a historic castle with a history dating back more than 2000 years. The huge towers, picturesque grounds, and surrounding walls are a magnificent contrast to the modern designs of the cities infamous millennium stadium,  millennium centre, and Cardiff bay.

Cardiff Castle is the centre piece of this beautiful city. Arriving in Cardiff tourists are greeted by the massive walls of this huge castle right in the heart of town, surrounded by Cardiff’s central shopping and business district. Tourists can visit the castles, daily tours are  run taking tourists through the massive grounds and into each of the individually themed rooms of this amazing medieval castile. As well as visiting the spectacular interiors tourists can enjoy a walk through the huge picturesque grounds of the castle inhabited by peacocks, swans, and other beautiful wild animals,

Cardiff was put on the world sporting map with the construction of a state of the art stadium in 1999. Millennium stadium, with a capacity of 74,500 people, is primarily used for Rugby Union and professional football games. Over the years the stadium has hosted an FA cup final as well as many international Rugby Test matches including home games for the Wales during the 2007 Rugby World Cup as well as a Quarter Final game that saw France defeat the NZ All Black in front of a capacity crowd.
